Amy Pellegrino is a Cincinnati based artist, having received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Spatial Arts from Northern Kentucky University. She primarily works in ceramic, both on the pottery wheel and hand-building and sculpting. She completed an Artist Residency with Core Clay, a local ceramics studio in Norwood, OH. She has happily taught Beginner and Advanced wheel-throwing classes at Core Clay and Baker Hunt Arts and Cultural Center in for 3 years. She continues to fall in love with teaching with each session she teaches.

Amy’s work is inspired by memories of her unique upbringing in her surrounding environment. She grew up on a private drive established by her ancestors, which can be described as a pocket of pristine nature hidden just outside the city limits of Cincinnati. Playing in the forest, creeks and meadows with her cousins and family formed her most appreciated memories dealing with the natural world. These precious memories fuel the content of her work, as Amy hopes to one day be an environmental artist, making art about the world she loves and longs to protect.

When not teaching or making, Amy enjoys gardening, spying on the rabbits that want to eat said garden, and spending time with her husband and animal children.
