After seeing the incredible rock formations in Hocking Hills, OH I felt inspired to create a series of rock inspired cups. It was a small study in sandblasting, layering, playing with mason stains, and firing organic matter. It was also my first journey into replicating the same exact form over and over. 12 cups were made total, and 4 successful pairs were presented for critique.
